so this is my happy pill >>> VITAMIN B. [complex]. I’ve been taking it religiously for about the last 2 years…
when colitis was new to my life [12 years ago now] my then naturopath put me on a stress pill which was one of three supplements I was taking to help get me out of a flare. [the other one was a digestive aid and for the life of me I can’t remember what the third one was… acidophilus maybe.] anyway. for some reason I stopped seeing that naturopath and taking the stress pill. which I now know was made up of vitamin Bs. so fast forward 10 years and i’m in a wicked flare wondering why the heck I ever stopped taking the STRESS PILL?!!! so I found myself at a local health store asking what was the best vitamin b complex they had. one was $20 and the other was $60. the expensive one is the AOR Advanced B Complex and needless to say I chose that one. and don’t buy cheap vitamins people. you’re just throwing your money down the drain, along with your liver. then I think a year later I started seeing a naturopath again and he recommended AOR brand without even knowing that was the one I already take!! so I was quite excited and proud of myself because he says its one of the best b complex out there. AND THEN he told me where to get it online for $20 cheaper! so. I’m very grateful to him for that. that’s good shit. and good business.
side note: B complex means that you’re getting all eight B vitamins: B-1, B-2, B-3, B-5, B-6, B-7, B-9 and B-12 aka thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, biotin, folate or folic acid and cobalamin.
so canadianvitaminshop.ca is usually where I get it from for $39.99. and depending on where you live, the taxes [only 5%] are also probably cheaper then what you’d normally pay. and shipping is free for orders over $70 so I usually just buy two. or FOUR LOL.
but today I’m here to share a coupon code with you to get it even cheaper. Vitamart.ca has it on sale for $34.39 [after you enter the coupon code] until Monday, Nov 21, 2016. click here and it will bring you to the right product. and DON’T FORGET to enter the coupon code 20OFFAOR at the checkout. I guess on that note actually, all AOR products are on sale. so bonus. [I get a raw protein probiotic from Vitamart and they have excellent customer service]
aside from vitamin B helping with stress, [and being important for other reasons] I call vitamin B my happy pill because I’ve really noticed a difference in my energy and mood when I’m taking it. there was this one time last year, there were three days in a row that I was super irritated and bothered for no obvious reason… which was bothersome in itself…and then that’s when it dawned on me that I had run out of my vitamin B and stopped getting my daily fix. so we don’t run out of vitamin B over here any more :-)
during my last flare I got a vitamin B12 shot (for the first time) and felt like the energizer bunny. but that power [that I could feel] wore off after a couple hours because I was in such a bad flare.
I also don’t eat a lot of meat because it’s acidic [i do my best to eat more alkaline foods.] so a vitamin B supplement is good for that reason too. so hopefully all the vegans and vegetarians out there are on a good B complex..
before I leave you with some info from Dr. Axe, it’s important to note that Vitamin B is just one of the daily supplements I take to help kick colitis. probiotics, fish oil, vitamin D, licorice root, are some others, to name a few. the list goes on and it’s craziness but IT WORKS.
bye for now.
