Remission.

Remission. my route for remission is definitely not easy and it take a lot of work and discipline.

I do not have all the answers and still get myself in to flares but I have come a LONGGGG WAY.

I’ve been fighting* UC since I was 17 [since 2004] and have found my ‘cure’ with the foods that I eat, how I manage my stress, exercise and by keeping out the toxins – to the best of my control. I hate drugs but still believe that there is a time and place for them.

*I make a conscious effort to never say ‘I’ve been suffering from UC’. I’m a strong believer in the law of attraction and that like attracts like. throw the word suffering out there and suffering is what you get. #foodforthought ?

For anyone out there fighting this horrific disease and feeling helpless, I am here to tell you that there is hope. regardless of a ‘cure’ being found. we can cure ourselves.

There are many reasons this blog exists…

to share and inspire and give hope to others. [it really is possible to live a great story despite having ulcerative colitis. true story!!]

I hold myself accountable (to a degree) in keeping myself out of flares.

my three pillars to stay in remission  are STRESS MANAGEMENT, DIET, and EXERCISE.

don’t ever give up on hope and healing.
